“Omega“ Says: Cavic won Phelps in Beijing!

The official timekeeper at the FINA championships, the famous ”Omega”, gave a statement in which was said that Milorad Cavic did touched the wall before Michael Phelps in the famous race in 100 m butterfly at the Olympics in Beijing.

”Omega” said one year after the finish of the famous race at the Olympics in Beijing that Cavic touched the key at finish, but Phelps did it stronger, so his hit was registered first.

In the touch-pad system there is huge difference between touch and hit the key. The video is clear, Cavic touched the key before Phelps, but his fingers were ”sliding” on water, while Phelps was rushing to the key and hitting it forcefully before Cavic. The difference between them is on thousand part of a second. All records we have, along with all what the system showed, acknowledge it. All was shown to the FINA, Cavic' coach, who watched the video and after a minut said: " OK. There's no problem. That's also a result." - "Omega" said.
