The Serbian swimmer Milorad Cavic managed to get into finals of the 100 m butterfly race at the World championship in Rome with the newly set record - 50,01. Ivan Lendjer is fourth in his semifinals' group, but he didn't make it to the finals. Cavic won in the semifinal the second place, with the result of 22,75. The first place with the new record of the championship (22,68) is won by Spaniard Rafael Muñoz. The final race on 50 m butterfly in on program on Monday afternoon.
Muñoz set the record of the championship for the second time with a semifinal result in just few hours, since he evened in qualifications (with the time 22,90) his old record of the world championship who had been set just few minutes ago Southafrican Roland Schuman.
Olympic vicechampion in swimming Milorad Cavic finished on Wednesday preparations in Slovenian town of Nova Gorica and on Thursday went to the World Championship in Rome.
In last 10 days Gorica was a place of preparations of many swimmers for the 13th WC in Rome. At the preparations were Slovenian Peter Mankoc, Russians Ievgenii Korotiskin, Grigorij Falko, Andrej Grecin, Ievgenii Lagunov, Nikita Konovalev.
